United Concordia Adds Choices For Employee-Paid Dental Plans

HARRISBURG, PA - United Concordia Companies, Inc., a Highmark Inc. subsidiary, today announced the expansion of its voluntary dental plan options within its product offerings.

The new employee-paid program, called Concordia Choice, offers expanded preferred provider organization plans with multiple options for deductibles, maximums, waiting periods and benefit levels. The plans are available to groups with 50 or more employees and offer competitive participation requirements, waived deductibles for preventive services and optional orthodontia.

"Dental insurance is the most requested employee benefit after health, but many groups can't afford to absorb the cost of adding the program," said Chip Merkel, senior vice president, Eastern Division Sales. "Concordia Choice provides a solution by allowing employers to offer voluntary dental coverage at affordable group rates while reducing or eliminating company costs."

The company defines "voluntary" as any plan where the employer pays either a minimal portion or none of the monthly premium.

The Concordia Choice voluntary plans offer quality dental care with the freedom to seek treatment from any licensed dentist. However, employees realize time and cost savings when utilizing United Concordia's national network of more than 60,000 participating dentists.

United Concordia, a national, dental-only insurer with more than 30 years of industry experience, continues to provide high-quality, cost-effective dental benefits to its producers, customers and members. Success in satisfying members and obtaining new contracts has made United Concordia one of the largest dental insurance companies in the country.
