The Professional Protector Plan® For Dentists (PPP)® Continues Involvement With Mission Of Mercy To Meet The Dental Needs Of Those Underserved In Local Communities

The Professional Protector Plan® for Dentists is on the road again participating in America's Dentists Care Foundation Mission of Mercy (ADCF MOM) events at the Eastern Shore Maryland Mission of Mercy (MOM) event on March 15-16, 2013 in Salisbury, MD.
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) - The Eastern Shore Mission of Mercy is a group of volunteer dental professionals and community volunteers who come together to hold a free, two-day, dental clinic. The clinic provides services ranging from preventative dentistry and cleanings, to restorative fillings and extractions. This years' clinic will be held on March 15-16 at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury, MD.
The ADCF MOM website provides more information, including links to local MOM events, how you can make a financial donation or register to volunteer your services online.
Understanding that many people and families today have difficulty affording dental services, Mission of Mercy events provide a “no questions asked” care to those in need. According to the American Dental Association, dental disease is almost entirely preventable and oral health is just as important as the health of the rest of your body. Untreated dental disease can lead to serious health problems such as infection, damage to bone or nerve, and tooth loss. Infection from tooth disease can even spread to other parts of the body and in rare cases, can lead to death.
The Professional Protector Plan for Dentists will also contribute and volunteer time at the Arkansas State Dental Association’s Mission of Mercy, Rhode Island Oral Health Foundation’s Mission of Mercy, Michigan Dental Association’s Mission of Mercy, Wisconsin Dental Association’s Mission of Mercy, Nebraska Dental Association’s Mission of Mercy, New Mexico Dental Association’s Mission of Mercy, Iowa Dental Association’s Mission of Mercy, and Central Arizona Dental Association’s Mission of Mercy.
Missions of Mercy events have donated dental services to indigent patients for over a decade. The first dental MOM was held in Virginia, July 2000. MOM events are now held in 17 states and are usually sponsored by state or local dental societies. Over the course of its history, 100,000+ patients have been treated, and over $50 million of donated dental services have been provided by caring dental professionals.
