The Periotome is a surgical instrument intended to facilitate tooth extractions in preparation of an immediate implant placement or for standard tooth extractions. The instrument's blade can be used to cut the periodontal fibers around the root of the tooth to be extracted. It can also reflect the marginal gingiva after tooth extraction while the implant site is being prepared. The kit includes a handle and three surgical-grade stainless steel blades.
