Sirona Announces The Launch Of The GALILEOS Compact 3D Cone Beam Imaging System

LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sirona (Nasdaq: SIRO), a leading global manufacturer of technologically advanced, high quality dental equipment, today announced the launch of the GALILEOS Compact 3D Cone Beam Imaging System.

GALILEOS Compact is Sirona's latest 3D Cone Beam Imaging System, and is specifically tailored to meet the needs of the general practitioner. The GALILEOS Compact provides a 12 cm x 15 cm x 15 cm 3D field of view, the largest in its class. In addition, the Compact system has the ability to display traditional 2-D panoramic digital images, a benefit for the dental practitioner.

Sirona launched its premium 3D Cone Beam Imaging System, the GALILEOS Comfort, in March of 2007. GALILEOS Comfort remains the 3D system of choice for dentists and specialists with the most discerning clinical requirements. Both GALILEOS Comfort and GALILEOS Compact are based on a common technology platform and share many of the same advantages including; excellent image quality, an integrated software system and implant planning tools.

The GALILEOS Compact system provides an excellent value for dentists who require 3D X-ray diagnostic capabilities, and the system can be upgraded to the fully equipped GALILEOS Comfort for an additional fee. In addition, the Compact unit has significantly lower radiation dosage requirements than other 3D systems in its class. The GALILEOS Compact System will begin shipping in early August of 2008.
