Old Saybrook, Waterford and Madison, CT (PRWEB) - Individuals who are looking for periodontists who utilize Cone Beam technology in the placement of dental implants in Old Saybrook, Waterford, and Madison, CT, can now schedule an appointment with the team at River Valley Periodontics & Implant Dentistry. Cone Beam Technology is a very valuable tool in the placement of implants because it yields a 3D view of the patient’s mouth and various oral structures that can be used to map out the specific size and placement of implants.
Drs. McAraw, Cantner,Cantner, Foisie and Oks invite patients with missing teeth to receive dental implants from their Old Saybrook, Waterford, or Madison, CT offices. The team utilizes Cone Beam technology at all three locations, which is an imaging system that facilitates the proper placement of implants. Periodontists prefer Cone Beam technology over traditional x-ray scans because it yields more clear and detailed images. Whereas x-rays are two-dimensional and do not give a full view of the patient’s various dental structures, Cone Beam imaging is 3-dimensional and provides remarkably detailed images of nerves and other structures that may have an effect on how and where implants are placed.
In addition to the clarity of images provided by Cone Beam technology, this remarkable imaging system also reduces the amount of radiation to which patients are exposed. In some cases, Cone Beam imaging produces up to 10 times less radiation than regular x-ray machines, and is thereby a safer method for individuals who are sensitive to radiation exposure or who want to limit any unnecessary exposure. Cone Beam imaging is also quicker than traditional x-rays and can yield panoramic images of the mouth in a matter of seconds, compared to an x-ray machine which can take up to several minutes to yield two-dimensional pictures of the mouth.
The doctors extend an invitation to patients who need dental implants in Old Saybrook, Waterford, and Madison, CT to schedule an appointment with their team at any three of their office locations. Drs. McAraw, Cantner, Foisie and Oks are proud to be some of the few periodontists in the area who utilizes Cone Beam technology to place implants in a more safe, quick and efficient manner.
