HemCon, Inc. Changes Name To HemCon Medical Technologies, Inc.

Portland, OR - HemCon, Inc. announced recently that its shareholders and board of directors have unanimously approved a name change to HemCon Medical Technologies, Inc. The new name, effective immediately, was chosen to better reflect the expanded scope of the company's new products and future strategic vision.

"The new name more accurately reflects our corporate objectives," stated President and Chief Executive Officer, John W. Morgan. "While we began as a company focused on hemorrhage control, we are now expanding our platform technology into other markets and treatment areas where our solution constitutes a significant improvement in the current standard of care."

HemCon has recently launched two new dressings for the emergency medical professional and a wound care dressing for the dental market. Research and clinical studies are also ongoing into surgical hemostasis, as well as dressings for wound and burn care.
