How a minimum invasion approach restored a youngster’s smile in just one hour

Glasgow, Scotland (PRWEB UK) - Not content with having recently completed dental implantology training at Sheffield university, Glasgow dental surgeon Dr Tariq Bashir of Visage Lifestyle Clinic has embarked on a 10 day advanced aesthetic restorative course with world renowned Prosthodontic specialist, Dr Basil Mizrahi.

This is an area of particular interest to Dr Bashir, especially given the natural inclination of children to be children, making accidents inevitable. So when Tariq heard that he was about to meet an 11 year old boy who’d broken his two front teeth after falling off a chute, he knew that it was essential to sort things out as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Given how distressing these kinds of events can be for youngsters and parents alike, the key was to put the young man at his ease. Naturally the youngster was nervous when he arrived – like so many of us he hates injections. However, the Visage team has a great deal of experience working with children and nervous patients and Tariq was soon able to reassure him. Once his patient had settled down, Tariq took a series of photos and impressions. This allowed the Visage technicians to create a model of the young man’s smile so that Tariq could accurately plan the repair.

When the patient returned for his second and final visit he was much less anxious than before as he now knew all the team. In just one hour, Tariq was able to completely restore the broken teeth using layers of composite resin, which exactly match the colours and other properties of the original teeth. After a quick polish of the restored front teeth the patient was straight back out to play, thrilled with his new look – as was his mum.

This patient-centric approach means a much faster, less invasive treatment for patients of all ages, with far less sensitivity afterwards compared to traditional approaches. As Dr Bashir says, “Cosmetic dentistry needn’t be a trauma!”.
