Delta Dental Launches New PPO Individual Plans In Pennsylvania, Florida And Texas

Residents of Pennsylvania, Florida and Texas have new dental care options thanks to two new individual PPO plans just launched by Delta Dental.

Mechanicsburg, PA (PRWEB) - Residents of Pennsylvania, Florida and Texas have new dental care options thanks to two new individual PPO plans just launched by Delta Dental.

The Delta Dental PPO(SM) Basic Plan and the Delta Dental PPO Premium Plan are available for purchase in Pennsylvania through Delta Dental of Pennsylvania and in Florida and Texas through Delta Dental Insurance Company. (In Texas, the plans are known as DPO plans.) Coverage begins as early as this month. Both plans carry a $50 per person/$150 per family deductible, cover 100% of diagnostic and preventive care from contracted Delta Dental PPO dentists, and provide varying levels of coverage for basic services depending on the plan. The Premium Plan also provides a 50% benefit for major services such as root canals, crowns and orthodontics.

“We saw a great need to provide individual consumers with more dental coverage options while meeting their pricing needs,” said Belinda Martinez, executive vice president and chief sales and marketing officer for the group of companies that includes Delta Dental of Pennsylvania and Delta Dental Insurance Company. “We know that people with dental benefits visit the dentist more often and enjoy greater overall health, and our goal in offering these new plans is to help create smiles as well as improve health and enhance lives.”

According to the National Association of Dental Plans’ report, “The Haves and the Have-Nots: Consumers with and without Dental Benefits,” people with dental benefits are more likely to go to the dentist, take their children to the dentist, receive restorative care and experience greater overall health. Those without dental coverage – one third of all people nationwide – either must “pay as they go” or forgo preventive and early treatment, which can result in more extensive treatment being needed later on as well as in more oral health complications.

“Many people don’t have access to group dental coverage for many reasons — either it’s not offered through their employer, they’re no longer working or working for themselves or they simply lack coverage,” added Martinez. “These new direct-to-consumer plans offer enrollees the option of visiting any dentist of their choice, with the best potential cost savings when visiting a contracted Delta Dental PPO dentist.”

Delta Dental also offers other individual plans, including individual dental HMOs, in several states. For state-by-state availability and pricing information, visit deltadentalins.com/individuals.
