New Business Partnership Brings Better Access To Dental Care For The Uninsured

Productive Dentist Academy and Compass Dentist make dentistry better

Albany, Or (PRWEB) The Productive Dentist Academy is a dental consulting company that boasts the tagline “Doing good while doing good.” Their mission is to help dental practices across the country realize their full productivity potential. At a recent Productive Dentist Academy seminar a new partner, Compass Dentist, was welcomed into the fold.

Compass Dentist is an in-office membership program that can stand in for, or replace traditional dental insurance. For a monthly payment, any patient can get preventive dental services and discounted restorative or cosmetic procedures from their dentist. There is no need for third party payer approval of procedures; decisions are made between the doctor and patient.

"Adding a membership plan to your patient offerings is a great way to increase loyalty and boost revenues. Its a great service for the patient." states McManus, CEO of Productive Dentist Academy.

A Compass membership provides services like dental cleanings, exams, x-rays, emergency exams, and discounts on restorative and cosmetic procedures if a patient chooses, without need for third party payer involvement. At the same time, Compass plans provide the dental practice with a simple option for reaching the growing number of uninsured patients in their communities, while also providing preventive care to those patients that would not otherwise get it.

“Partnering with the PDA is an honor. Their reputation as practice productivity mentors and die-hard commitment to their clients is well known within the dental industry. Compass Dentist Wellness Membership Plans and the PDA’s leadership and business coaching is a win-win for both practices and patients.” says Bob Bowers, COO of Compass Dentist.

Research from the Department of Health and Human Services shows a staggering 85.9% of Affordable Care Act enrollees are opting out of dental coverage. The number of insured patients decreased from 60% in 2003 to 53% in 2011. Dental disease is the number-one disease in the Nation, yet based on the reduced number of enrollees it seems there is a lack of faith in the third party payer system.

Compass Dentist and the Productive Dentist Academy are looking forward to helping patients achieve wellness. The partnership may also allow dentists to tap into a the market of the uninsured or underinsured, increasing their productivity.
